TxDOT’s Waco District – Belton Maintenance Section is seeking a dependable, experienced professional to serve as a Transportation Maintenance Crew Chief. This position leads a roadway maintenance crew and oversees the section’s herbicide operations.
In this role, you will:
·    Supervise, train, and coordinate a road maintenance crew performing routine and emergency roadway maintenance.
·    Plan, prioritize, and oversee maintenance activities such as pavement repairs, drainage maintenance, shoulder work, traffic control, and storm response.
·    Manage the section’s vegetation control program through the safe, effective, and compliant use of herbicides.
·    Help maintain safe travel conditions and clear visibility for the traveling public.
·    Coordinate daily work assignments, equipment use, and material needs while promoting safety and accountability.
·    Inspect completed work to ensure it meets TxDOT standards, policies, and performance expectations.
·    Respond to emergencies and support incident response, weather events, and other maintenance operations as needed.

Salary Range
