What You Will Do:

  • Perform audits and reviews to ensure that software development, verification and quality assurance activities comply with industry standards (e.g. DO-178B/DO-178C), contractual, applicable regulatory requirements, approved plans, procedures and standards.

  • Approve software planning documents and software deliverables for release to both military and commercial customers.

  • Execute the process assurance function for system lifecycle activities

  • Support external audits conducted by customers, regulatory authorities (e.g., FAA, TCCA) and certification bodies (e.g. AS9100 registrar).

  • Generate associated Software Quality Assurance records in a timely manner

  • Collaborate with the development team to identify and resolve non-conformances and process deviations. 

  • Drive process improvements and defects elimination within the Software Quality Assurance function.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related field, and at least 5 years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer or related role in the Avionics Industry or 3+ years with an advanced degree.

  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience with RTCA DO-178B/C certification, DO-330, 331, 332, ARP-4754, FAA SOI and/or TSO certification for safety critical airworthy embedded systems and possess at least 3 years of experience with defining, validating system/software requirements, application architecture prototyping, low-level design, and development.

  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience with ARINC communications including ARINC 429, 661, 664 and 615A; with at least 3 years of experience with Embedded C programming, debugging, troubleshooting, hardware-software system integration and Ethernet and ARINC communications.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in Control Systems development and support

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, high pressure engineering environment 

  • Prior safety critical software development experience 

  • Outstanding cross discipline communication skills 

  • Familiarity with jet engine control and diagnostic system architectures and control logic design
