About the role

Our Irvine office has an opening for a self-motivated engineer with 0 to 5 years of experience to work on projects related to water/wastewater design, conveyance pipeline infrastructure, as well as provide as needed construction support. Detailed Description:

  • Work closely with project managers, project engineers, and other team members to execute work involving water and wastewater design projects. 
  • Conduct technical evaluations to support planning and design related activities. 
  • Provide support on a variety of civil/environmental engineering and construction management projects. 
  • Assist with the preparation of calculations, technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents. 
  • Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications as part of engineering services during construction. 
  • Assist with submittal reviews, requests for information, correspondence, change requests, and change orders for construction projects. 
  • Conduct field work as necessary for various projects. 
  • Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines (drafters, designers, and other engineers). 
  • Successfully manage and deliver assignments on time and on budget. 
  • Adhere to Brown and Caldwell’s QA/QC process. 

 

Desired Skills and Experience:  

  • Self-starter, results-oriented, and ability to work under deadlines 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field required  
  • Desire to work on projects related to water system master planning and modeling and water and wastewater system infrastructure 
  • EIT preferred 
  • Plan to obtain California PE 
  • Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts 
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills 
  • Ability to work both independently and on large coordinated teams 
  • Ability and willingness to perform field work at various sites as needed 
  • Knowledge of standard software including MS Office and Outlook 
  • Previous exposure to Revu Bluebeam is a plus 
  • Strong aptitude for researching and solving technical problems 

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.  These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location B:  $62,000 - 85,000
