An exciting opportunity exists for experienced semiconductor processing engineers to join our III-V foundry team at the RF Microelectronics/Module Development & Foundry Services department at Raytheon in Andover, MA. This department develops, designs, and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, microwave/millimeter-wave integrated circuits, and modules for defense applications.

The ideal candidates for these roles will have a broad understanding of semiconductor tools, processing techniques and microelectronic circuit testing. The successful candidates will support and execute process development efforts, assist in process sustainment, improve product yield, develop new processes and device capabilities, and assist in the creation of new technology discriminators in a III-V semiconductor wafer foundry. They may also develop proof of concept demonstrations of novel semiconductor processes, identify yield and process improvement opportunities, gather sponsorship and team resources, and execute on continuous improvement activities.  Presence on the foundry floor is essential. 

What You Will Do

  • Frequently work on the foundry floor and interact with various process engineering, equipment engineering, digital technologies, quality, facilities, and operations teams
  • Sustainment of current production processes and involvement with development of new processes
  • Review in-line electrical data trends and process control metrics.
  • Investigate scrap and rework events with root cause tools and approaches
  • Maintain technical documentation (recipes, out-of-control action plans, FMEAs)
  • Identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Manipulate large datasets and use statistical analysis to define SPC controls, manage projects, and assign risk
  • Manage yield improvement and RCCA efforts supporting the production line
  • Support capital qualification efforts.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Experience in semiconductor processing techniques such as photolithography, dielectric deposition, metals evaporation, etch processes and/or optical or scanning electron microscope inspections.
