About the role..

Permutive is looking for a Global Controller to own all aspects of the accounting and financial operations. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will have the opportunity to hire, grow and develop a small and high performing team, and implement technology and best practices that allow the company to operate efficiently and effectively at 2-3 times its financial current scale within three to five years. 

What you’ll be doing..

  • Design and implement the processes to deliver a best-in-class month-end close process 
  • Prepare the month-end reporting package with an analysis of any variances
  • Define and execute formal and informal policies, practices and controls across all lines of business
  • Implement and maintain accounting and finops systems including mid-market solutions for ERP, billing, collections, treasury, procurement and expenses
  • Lead the annual external audit and prepare or oversee required reporting
  • Ensure global tax and regulatory compliance – for now US and UK, but likely more in the future
  • Coordinate with and support RevOps, CustomerOps, FP&A etc in developing KPI’s, forecasting, and insights
  • Support Sales and Customer Success structuring enterprise-level software and services deals and renewals
  • Own Invoice-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, payroll and travel expense management
  • Ensure the Company complies with all current and future accounting standards (US GAAP and IFRS as required)

What you’ll need..

  • Commutable distance to our office in NYC. 
  • Extensive experience successfully progressing in B2B SaaS organisations, with at least four years executing on substantially all of the activities above. 
  • Understands that G&A exists to service the organisation and not vice/versa
  • Has successfully built accounting functions from scratch or from an early stage; able to assess the current state and articulate then execute on a vision of the future state 
  • Implemented and maintained Enterprise Resource Planning in a global, multi-currency SaaS business.
  • Implemented point-solutions around the ERP to improve efficiencies in all processes
  • Deep knowledge of revenue and expense recognition, with a primary focus on commercial success over technical compliance.
  • Successful people-leader with a track record of hiring and building high-performing teams.
  • Detail-oriented, with a core focus on quality of inputs and outputs, and can see and articulate the big picture. 
  • Consistently deliver on time, with quality and at or better than budget.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to review and understand commercial and vendor contracts
  • Consistently embraces feedback to learn, grow and improve. 

What we are offering…

We take a structured, objective approach to salary-setting, which is based on market information, our compensation strategy, and your experience and capability as assessed through our interview process. For a typical candidate who meets our requirements, we pay a base salary between $190,000 - $200,000 with a 20% bonus based on company and individual performance.
