About the role

Summary

The Lead Coordinator, Procurement oversees daily procurement and stockroom operations within the Facilities department. This role ensures that materials, tools, equipment, and supplies are sourced, received, stored, and distributed efficiently. The coordinator leads stockroom workflows, maintains accurate inventory records, and partners with vendors and internal teams to support uninterrupted facilities operations. This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

Job Duties

  • Procurement Oversight: Manage purchasing activities for facilities supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring timely and cost effective procurement.
  • Vendor Coordination: Build and maintain relationships with approved vendors; obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and resolve delivery or quality issues. 
  • Stockroom Leadership: Lead daily stockroom operations including receiving, labeling, shelving, and issuing materials. 
  • Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory counts; perform cycle counts; monitor stock levels; identify shortages and reorder needs. 
  • Facilities Support: Collaborate with Facilities technicians and managers to ensure materials are available for maintenance, repairs, and projects. 
  • Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all procurement and inventory records are complete, accurate, and compliant with organizational policies. 
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Six years of relevant experience.

Department-specific Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and meet Baylor College of Medicine's driving eligibility requirements, including a clean driving record and a minimum of three years of U.S. driving history.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP Plant Maintenance module.
  • Forklift driving experience.
