The Director of Product Innovation and Strategic Development leads the end-to-end process of bringing innovative compounded medication products from concept through launch, driving strategic growth and competitive advantage. This position combines visionary product strategy with rigorous business case development, executive stakeholder engagement, networking with external research and academic partners, and agile project management. The Director plans and manages resources and processes required for new product development, ensuring initiatives align with organizational goals and market needs while delivering measurable financial outcome.
Where will you work?
- This is a full-time position working a hybrid schedule.
What you’ll do:
- Lead strategic market analysis and roadmap planning to identify unmet patient needs and guide new product development.
- Drive innovation by building a structured concept pipeline and collaborating with veterinary and scientific leaders to refine ideas.
- Develop business cases and present to executive leadership to secure buy-in, ensuring strong alignment on product priorities.
- Oversee cross-functional project execution, managing timelines, resources, and deliverables through agile, stage-gate processes.
- Support go-to-market readiness by developing product briefs and partnering with commercial teams on launch materials and training.
- Build external partnerships and maintain stakeholder relationships to accelerate innovation and product differentiation.
- Manage development budgets and report on pipeline performance, ROI, and launch outcomes.

What you’ve done:
- 8+ years of experience in new product development, preferably in pharmaceutical, biotech, veterinary, or healthcare innovation
- Proven success in developing and presenting strategic business cases to senior leadership with measurable impact
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional, complex projects in agile environments; proficient in project and change management
- Experienced in people leadership and working collaboratively across departments to drive outcomes
- Skilled in market research, financial modeling, and data-driven decision-making
- Proven ability to bring innovation to market and identify growth opportunities in dynamic markets
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree (required); advanced degree (MBA, PharmD, DVM) or veterinary business experience is a plus

- Compensation: The target salary range is $200,000-$225,000 commensurate with individual's experience and qualifications
