Golf Course - Mechanic

Description

The Golf Course Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing golf carts and groundskeeping equipment for the Golf Course.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspects, diagnoses, adjusts and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various pieces of golf course maintenance equipment on a regular basis.
• Replaces faulty or worn out parts and components, sourcing and selecting appropriate replacement parts according to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards. 
• Keeps up with preventative maintenance schedules.
• Prioritizes equipment repairs and maintenance work.
• Places orders for parts/supplies as needed for equipment or service and tracks inventories.
• Communicates any needs or problems relating to maintenance or repair of equipment with the Director of the Golf Course.
• Operates heavy and light equipment.
• Performs mower grinding/sharpening.
• Assists in all irrigation and mowing tasks as requested by management.
• Maintains a clean, organized work environment in all areas.
• Adheres to safety protocols and guidelines while working with hazardous materials, heavy machinery, and potentially dangerous situations. 
• Follows all OSHA safety regulations relating to this position.
• May act as a Groundskeeper 1, filling in during times of need.
• Other duties as directed by management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, Team Members may be exposed to all types of weather conditions. This position is determined to have a potential for possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to sit, stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours.
• Must be able to carry, reach, twist, bend and squat frequently.
• Must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance as needed.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND ELIGIBILITY

• Minimum age requirement for this position is 18 years old.
• Must have 4 years mechanical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven experience as a mechanic, with a strong understanding of automotive and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and tools. 
• Knowledge of vehicle and equipment manuals, schematics, and technical resources. 
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, verbally, in writing or by other acceptable means.
• Comply with pre-employment, random and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing. 
• Availability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays based on the needs of the department and for special casino events.
