US Medical Affairs Strategy – Liver Disease

Reporting to the Sr. Director US Medical Affairs (USMA) Liver Disease, the Senior Manager of Medical Affairs Strategy role will help support the development and execution of the US Medical Affairs Plan of Action in Liver Disease.  The key functions of this role will be to work cross-functionally with many different internal and external stakeholders to execute the USMA Plan of Action.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborates with global medical affairs, USMA virology teams, and commercial teams, primarily as a key contributor and knowledge expert in support of the Local Strategic Plan (LSP).

• Regular communication with the Gilead Medical Scientist Liaison (MSL) team to remain abreast of issues in the field and to provide medical education and support, as needed.

• Serves as Medical Affairs Representative on USMA development project teams, as assigned.

• Provides medical and scientific input on Independent Medical Education and Grant applications.

• Create, revise and maintain Medical Affairs slide decks

• Serve as an educational resource to both medical and commercial disease and product training

• Works with Executive and Senior Director, and Associate Director/Director on development of a variety of projects, providing independent thought and initiative in the further development of specific projects and ensuing presentations and reports.

• Manages projects to completion, anticipating obstacles and difficulties that may arise, resolving them in a collaborative manner and providing updates to relevant partners.

• Attends scientific conferences and helps coordinate medical affairs activities at conferences and may present to external audience.

• Responsible for the development and execution of projects that will provide more extensive background, additional data/answers to questions in response to issues relative to commercial, scientific or data needs.

• Serves as Medical Affairs Lead on select scientific issues/topics using expertise to develop global scientific messages, inform strategy and review of Medical Information response documents.

• Collaborates with Executive and Senior Directors to develop Plan of Action and ensure alignment of team activities.

• Other activities, as assigned, to support USMA Liver Disease and Virology.

Requirements:

• Ideal candidate will have an advanced medical/scientific degree (e.g., MD, PhD, Pharm D, NP/PA) with 0-2 years’ experience, or Bachelor’s degree and 8 years’ experience, or advanced degree with 6 years’ experience
