Senior Cloud Network Engineer

The Senior Cloud Network Engineer will assist in provisioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting our network infrastructure. You will help to deliver mission critical infrastructure and ensure the highest levels of availability, performance, and security. Qualified network engineers will have an experienced background in Networking, Cloud, and/or Computer Systems Engineering.
- Manage and monitor networking between systems, services, and applications.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain networking devices, network connections, DNS, and network management tools.
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of network availability and network performance.
- Test network performance for potential bottlenecks and work with teams to implement solutions for mitigation and prevention.
- Assist in writing and maintaining custom scripts, automation playbooks, and automation tasks to increase network efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any task.
- Provide support during releases and issues requiring immediate attention.
- Involved in a mix of infrastructure and security related projects.
- Triage with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
- Strong understanding of software defined networking related public cloud environments.
- Networking SME for various team projects.
Requirements
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related experience.
- Five to seven years general networking experience.
- Two to three years cloud experience.
- Strong administration experience with networking and DNS.
- Familiarity with scripting and/or automation tools (bash, python, ansible, chef, etc.).
- Intermediate knowledge around cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.).
- Understands various network protocols (BGP, OSPF).
- Experience monitoring complex networks and communication flows.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve time sensitive problems.
- Proficient in diagram and documentation software (Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io, Confluence, etc.).
- Knowledge of general network security concepts and best practices.
- Public cloud network administration and deployment experience involving multiple regions.
- Strong experience with network peering, gateways, load balancing, firewalls, NAT, DNAT, SNAT.
- Ability to track system metrics to ensure uptime and SLAs are met.
- Comfortable with using APIs for various functions to automate configurations.
