Please review the following job description:

Underwrites credit exposure for the largest and most complex Mortgage Warehouse Lending clients and actively manages Middle Market and large corporate exposures, to include syndications, PEG-owned companies and exposures to publicly traded companies, all with significant client exposure, including Tall Trees and Mega Tall Trees. Individual client exposures are up to and at times may exceed internal lending limits, with all necessary approvals obtained therein. Combined assigned portfolio exposure can typically exceed $1-2 billion in commitments. Includes extensive and robust day-to-day client interaction, managing all aspects of portfolio risk and adheres to all regulatory, supervisory and compliance guidelines. A critical component of this role is early identification of emerging credit problems and industry trends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Underwriting: Leads the entire commercial underwriting process both internally and externally with the largest and most complex prospects and clients. Underwrites and documents all prospect and client transactions in accordance with prudent risk management. Possesses a mastery of client expertise, analyzes individual company performance and provides accurate risk assessment of prospect and client credit risk profiles. Works directly with Relationship Managers, Specialized Credit Administration, outside legal counsel and internal IT/Platform Management and is expected to drive all aspects of prospect and client approval, onboarding, closing, servicing and maintenance. Provides independent analysis of financial statements, forecasts and business plans; identifies and mitigates key risks; and is primary point of contact for addressing client needs. Recommends and models appropriate loan structures based on extensive due diligence. Is accountable for all aspects of risk evaluation and associated regulatory compliance requirements. 

• Portfolio Management: Accountable for and manages assigned portfolio by monitoring performance and trends, identifying issues and following through for remediation. Responsible for risk rating integrity, annual reviews as well as financial statement spreading, analysis, compliance and regulatory review.  Manages all renewals, modifications, amendments and waivers in the assigned portfolio within stringent timeframes. Is expected to be anticipatory, forward focused, independent, transparent and collaborative in identification, communication, escalation and remediation of credit risk.

• Client Servicing Effort: In conjunction with other internal partners, applies knowledge of credit policy, pricing and structure to develop solutions that both meet the client's needs and are within the Bank's risk appetite. Objectively establish and present credit materials in accordance with policy and sound credit risk management.

• Manage data integrity of all data inputs and outputs. Review and update loan systems and various program information data points to ensure accuracy with approvals and legal documentation. 

• Span of Control:  no direct reports but expected to help coach and mentor less experienced PMs. Maintain regular communication with prospects and clients, Portfolio Management teammates, Relationship Managers, Credit Risk Managers, Credit Review partners, Technology, and other internal and external audit and examiner functions.
