A Facility assistant that enjoys rolling his/her sleeves up to keep our busy fitness center functioning and looking it's finest.Every day will bring new challenges as you provide assistance with preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, general cleaning and compliance to safety protocols and policies. This includes regular inspection of the Fitness & Wellness Center building and equipment. Other responsibilities may include invoicing, managing expenses; assessing equipment and facility needs.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• General cleaning/maintenance of interior facility to ensure quality standards are met and maintained in adherence to all state, local laws and CDC guidelines.
• Conducts weekly maintenance walk-through with the Director to determine ever changing punch list projects status.
• Competency handling chemicals, cleaning solutions and related materials to ensure safety of self, staff, guests and members.
• Maintains preventative maintenance and documents repairs in maintenance log, including all equipment pieces/parts.
• Assist with equipment repairs immediately upon breakage, including but not limited to ordering parts when necessary.
• Performs minor carpentry, painting and construction work.
• Maintains proper lighting for center facility through constant monitoring and anticipation of lighting replacement needs.
• Works in conjunction with subcontractor to properly maintain pool equipment and testing log.
• Alerts director of inventory needs for janitorial supplies. May also be asked to pick up supplies, parts and/or other items determined necessary for the maintenance/safety of center facility and equipment, upon request and under the direction of the Executive Director.
• May assume Manager on Duty shifts (MOD).
• Attends staff meetings and trainings at the discretion of Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS
Preferably, 1 to 3 years general maintenance/repairs and cleaning, minor construction, painting, light plumbing and electrical (preferred), experience keeping a variety of gym equipment in good working order and ability to replace parts, belts etc. on fitness equipment. Effectively communicate, motivate, and problem solve. Possess basic computer knowledge (i.e. Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel). PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS
The Facility Assistant will be working in a professional health club environment. This position may be exposed to indoor projects with prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stretching, reaching, lifting and climbing. Some travel maybe required to pick up supplies, materials necessary for repairs and upkeep at the Center.
