The Role

Zippy is looking for a hands-on, technically strong Senior DevOps Engineer to step into a high-impact role as we scale our infrastructure and DevOps practices. You’ll be responsible for owning and evolving the systems that power our fully digital lending experience for manufactured homes. This is a highly collaborative and technical role with deep involvement in infrastructure, deployment pipelines, security, and automation. 

What You’ll Do 

• Own and evolve our infrastructure-as-code setup using Terraform and AWS. 

• Improve CI/CD processes, observability, and security posture across environments. 

• Maintain and enhance Docker-based deployments, orchestration, and performance & availability. 

• Develop and manage internal tooling, scripts, and automation using Bash and other scripting languages. 

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Business Technology, and Product teams to enable fast and safe deployments. 

• Help define best practices for DevOps at Zippy, including documentation, processes and procedures. 

• Organize and document access controls, passwords, credentials, and infrastructure ownership. 

• Serve as a technical expert and thought partner on system architecture, security, data pipelines, and scalability. 

What We’re Looking For 

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or similar infrastructure engineering roles. 

• Expert-level knowledge of Terraform and AWS, specifically ECS, Fargate, FSx, RDS & Aurora Serverless 

• Experience working with and deploying Ruby on Rails applications. 

• Expert proficiency with Docker and container-based development environments. 

• Strong command-line experience and scripting in Bash. 

• Strong GitHub experience, including workflows, permissions, and automation. 

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, managing secure credentials, and SOC2 compliance and enforcement. 

• Strong background in Data infrastructures, tooling, performance, and pipelines.  

• A pragmatic builder with a documentation-first mindset — knows how to scale without chaos. 

• Comfortable working independently and asynchronously in a remote-first startup. 

Bonus Points 

• Experience mentoring or onboarding new DevOps engineers. 

• Previous work in fast-moving startups with lean engineering teams. 

• Exposure to security compliance or audit-ready environments. 

• Experience with Python frameworks such as Django or Flask. 

• Experience with DBT, Foreign Data Wrappers, data warehouses & data lakes. 

• Experience with Postgres, MSSQL, Redis. 

• Experience with Cloudflare CDN & WARP 

• Broad experience with AWS platform including Glue, CodeBuild, EventBridge, ML & AI tools, etc

A
