In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Amazon Web Services provides a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of businesses in 190 countries around the world. The AWS Cloud infrastructure is built around Regions and Availability Zones (AZs). AWS Regions provide multiple, physically separated and isolated Availability Zones which are connected with low latency, high throughput, and highly redundant networking. These Availability Zones offer AWS customers an easier and more effective way to design and operate applications and databases, making them more highly available, fault tolerant, and scalable than traditional single datacenter infrastructures or multi-datacenter infrastructures. How would you like to come be part of the team that builds and procures that low latency, high throughput, and highly redundant network? <br/><br/>We are looking for a highly motivated, commercially savvy Network Infrastructure Business Developer to help grow and scale one of the world’s largest and most complex networks. We develop new and innovative ways to scale and expand our network, while delivering operational excellence to our stakeholders. This opportunity sits within our Backbone Network Development organization where the team is responsible for planning, developing and acquiring the network that drive Amazon’s internal infrastructure as well as connecting Amazon to the rest of the world. The Senior Backbone Network Developer will be a subject matter expert in the telecommunications marketplace, experienced with vendors, physical network infrastructure, optical technologies and backbone network engineering. This role requires collaboration, and synthesizing a technical vendor strategy across the AWS network topology. This individual would actively drive commercial and technical vendor network strategy within EMEA, working with suppliers, technology partners, as well as the AWS service teams to meet our customer’s demands. By applying a unique blend of industry and technology experience, you will work closely with both external and internal teams to find creative, cost effective, and often unusual solutions to meet Amazon's ongoing growth and expansion needs worldwide. <br/><br/>About the team<br/>The GCID Backbone Business Development (BBD) team is responsible for the planning and acquisition of all Long-Haul connectivity between AWS Regions and Edge sites supporting our Global Backbone network. <br/>The BD actively drive commercial and technical vendor network strategy within EMEAI, working with suppliers, technology partners, as well as the AWS service teams to meet our customer’s demands. By applying a unique blend of industry and technology experience, the BD works closely with both external and internal teams to find creative, cost effective, and often unusual solutions to meet Amazon's ongoing growth and expansion needs worldwide. The BD is a data analyst to a certain extent and works continuously to improve the quality of the processes and the internal data allowing leadership to make the right decisions. <h3>Basic Qualifications</h3><br/>- A Bachelor's Degree in an IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and work experience<br/>- Candidates should have telecommunications industry experience in a similar environment<br>- Ability to create complex financial models to understand business impacts of various network solutions is required<br/>- Demonstrated ability to formulate data driven decisions that
