As one of the two Senior Business Controllers Sales & Service within the BI&C team, you will collaborate closely with the Finance Business Partners (FBP) and business counterparts of Customer Team EU/US and CS Europe to optimize financial business performance. The broad scope of a full P&L (with strong sales involvement) from the CT, and a detailed cost (driver) focus and management for the Customer Service region Europe makes this a highly challenging and interesting opportunity.

Besides the FBP and business network, within the BI&C Customer Value you will collaborate with your partner business controller CT EU/US and CS Europe and with the other regional CT and CS controllers across the world. Together you will look for standardization and automation opportunities that will provide the required business insights at an efficient and high (and consistent) quality standard.

Roles and responsibilities

Business Insights & Control (BI&C) combines business knowledge, advanced analytics and controlling activities, and act as a coordinating hub to provide integral insights. Together with your Finance Business Partner counterparts from Customer Team EU/US and CS Europe you will identify and address key business questions to ensure high quality decision making.

  • Drive optimization and improvement of processes, standardization of worldwide reporting and insight-driven analyses to satisfy the need for management information.

  • Take a pro-active role in preparing and managing the Customer Team and CS Europe long-term financial plan, global annual budget cycle and monthly financial reviews, ensuring high quality planning information in terms of relevance, content, accuracy and timelines.

  • Identify, communicate and monitor financial risks and opportunities, and to translate those - in close cooperation with Finance Business Partners – into executable actions with aim to improve business performance.

  • Deliver the required insights towards CT and CS management utilizing the standard available automated reports and applying customization where needed to deliver the message. Critically consolidate a business relevant storyline and identify the main business drivers to be discussed.

  • Prepare CS site financial performance reviews and discuss with the CS site business teams.

  • Act as intermediary between Finance and Business to meet corporate requirements, supporting the business counterparts to be as efficient as possible. This requires a good understanding of both Finance and Business.

  • Translate the combined CT and CS knowledge into standardized insights that both increase CT understanding of CS cost drivers, and CS understanding of CT profitability drivers.

  • Coach and contribute to the development of other team members.

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Business Economics, preferably followed by an RC/RA/CPA/ACCA e.g.

  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience in a business control and/or FP&A environment.

  • Experience with management reporting, budgeting and forecasting for the full PL of a business unit, an operating company within the Group or at the Group level.

  • Extensive experience in managing complex financial processes and with planning applications and related tools (SAP BW, BI reporting, etc).

  • Preferably experience in (high) tech multinational environment and proven track record of quickly understanding complex content.
