JOB PURPOSE:


Develop, organize and implement high quality YMCA programming within the East Central YMCA membership, youth & family, and healthy living programs.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (not a complete list):

  • Direct and supervise program activities in membership, healthy living, and youth development to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives (General areas: group x studio scheduling/marketing, membership desk, Play and Learn scheduling).
  • Recruit, hire, train staff and develop schedules.
  • Direct personnel and volunteers as needed. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Maintains programs and enhance existing and develop new programs in the community according to strategic operating plans.
  • Assist in marketing and distribution of program (membership) information.
  • Develop and monitor program budget to meet fiscal objectives and purchase equipment and supplies as needed with director approval.
  • Coordinates use of facility for programs and events.
  • Assists in YMCA fundraising campaign; takes a leadership role in raising funds for the annual giving campaign.
  • Models’ relationship building skills (including listen first) in all interactions. Respond to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Assists in meetings.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures regarding the prevention of abuse.
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or misconduct immediately to the appropriate supervisory staff.
  • Attend mandatory training on abuse prevention, including recognizing signs of abuse, and reporting requirements.

  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation of programs in healthy living and membership.

Requirements

Required:

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; College coursework preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED, Oxygen Administration Certifications (will be provided upon employment).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
  • Ability to work with participants of varying experience and skills levels.


Preferred:

  • CPR, First Aid, AED, Oxygen Administration certification (will provide upon employment)
  • Bilingual English and Spanish
