We are currently looking for a Cook (part-time) 10 hours a week (shift 11pm – 2am) with a passion for human services. What you’ll do
The primary responsibilities of the cook are to prepare meals from scratch following exact recipes and specifications using a variety of cooking methods while following all food safety guidelines and procedures. Other primary responsibilities include filling customer orders to 100% through proper measurements, portion control, product labeling and staging methods. 

Primary duties and responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Preparation of meals and entrees following specific recipes, meal plans, menu cycles and portion sizes.
  • Complying with all health and safety regulations regarding food preparation and handling.
  • Working on more than one item at a time
  • Operating stoves, ovens, slicers, grills and other kitchen equipment.
  • Cutting meats, vegetables and preparing various other items in preparation for cooking.
  • Packaging and labeling meals for shipment.
  • Using many different methods of cooking including grilling, roasting, Sautee, baking, poaching etc
  • Preparing sauces, gravies, starches, meats, entrees, etc. from scratch recipes
  • Maintain a clean kitchen and work environment, including refrigerators, freezers and storage areas.
  • Wash dishes
  • Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels of products and supplies.  Also assist in stock rotation.
  • Various other duties as assigned.

 

What you’ll bring

                      High school diploma or equivalent.

                      Must be able to effectively multi-task

                      Must have excellent time management skills

                      Minimum 1 year high volume catering cooking

                      Must understand cooking measurements

                      Must have 1year commercial cooking experience

                      Must be able to accurately follow and scale recipes

                      Must have excellent knife skills

                      Must understand food service terminology

                      Must have a valid WA state Food Handler’s Permit.

                      Must be able to read and write English.

                      Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers.

 

Preferably you’ll bring

                      Culinary school experience preferred
