The State Highway Administration's (SHA) Office of Finance (Baltimore City) is currently recruiting for an Assistant Section Chief (Fiscal Services Administrator II) position. This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum and selective qualifications listed below. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies in this classification.


Nature of Work
: The Assistant Chief will supervise the Budget Section within the Office of Finance. They are responsible for the formulation and development of MDOT SHA’s $2.0 billion annual budget request. The section also monitors and analyzes expenditure, performs financial analysis, produces financial and statistical reports, and performs other activities as needed.

Examples of duties

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EducationPossession of a Bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, public or business administration, finance, economics or a related field from an accredited college or university.
 
Experience: Six (6) years of experience in professional accounting, auditing, budgeting, fiscal or financial management
.

Selective Qualification: Two (2) years of the required experience should have involved budget development and/or budget monitoring.
