UX Research Lead

At Accenture Federal Digital Studio, UX research is an integral part of our design process. As a Lead UX Researcher, you will plan and implement research ranging from foundational (impacting immediate business decisions and product designs) to strategic (influencing long-term user experience vision and goals). You will build positive relationships with clients, lead UX research projects, identify relevant insights to help make business decisions, and identify product/user experience opportunities. You will stay up-to-date on UX industry trends, incorporating new research techniques when appropriate and, train junior researchers on UX methodologies, as applicable.
As a team, we:
- Work cross-functionally with product owners, designers, content producers and leadership to help identify significant user insights, gaps, conduct UX research, and generate insights to craft user experience strategy for launches, incremental improvements, and innovation
As a Lead UX Researcher, you:
- Develop significant actionable user insights and communicate them clearly and persuasively across different audiences
- Leverage analytics and other insights to better understand customer needs
- Provide strategic direction to major research projects and liaise with key clients
- Lead and inspire large research teams, potentially on multiple projects
- Collaborate with data scientists and market researchers to build a complete understanding of customers’ behaviors and needs
- Continually learn, grow, and improve the craft of UX research
- Develop research standards and mentor staff
Working together, we will:
- Identify opportunities to improve user experience based on research insights
- Build a UX research repository that delivers efficiency for clients
What You Have:
- 8-10+ years of experience moderating and applying various UX research methodologies
- 4-5 years of experience leading UX research workstreams
- Ability to learn new software quickly; experience with Microsoft Office, Dscout, Optimal Workshop, InVision, Axure, Confluence or Jira is a plus
- Advanced knowledge of UX research modalities and methods (e.g., generative and evaluative, participatory design, card sorting, journey mapping)
- Proven moderation and engagement skills (e.g., 1:1 interviews, usability studies, focus groups, contextual inquiries, expert reviews, co-creation)
- Advanced understanding of integrating qualitative and quantitative research methods to improve research outcomes
- A portfolio of work that demonstrates your ability to develop and execute research studies
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and history of solving complex interactive challenges
- Strong communication skills to concisely communicate complex subject matter verbally and written
- Ability to lead and train junior UX researchers
- Bachelor's or MS in a human behavior related field
Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, New York or Washington as set forth below and information on benefits offered is here.

California: $111,400 - $213,600
Colorado: $111,400 - $184,300
New York: $103,200 - $213,600
Washington: $118,700 - $196,400
