VNS Health Psychiatric Social Workers provide vital client-centered behavioral health care to New Yorkers most in need, across all stages of life and mental well-being. We deliver care wherever our clients are, including outpatient clinics, clients’ homes, and the community. Our short- and long-term service models include acute, transitional, and intensive care management programs that impact the most vulnerable populations, from children, to adolescents, to aging adults. As a Psychiatric Social Worker, you will develop exceptional diagnostic skills and use behavioral intervention techniques to de-escalate crisis situations. You will provide vital social services and connect clients to resources that help them remain safely in the community. Compensation Range:$63,800.00 - $79,800.00 Annual

What You Will Do 

• Delivers outreach services to mentally ill individuals in the community, providing in-home mental health intervention to those experiencing or at risk of psychosocial difficulties   

• Collaborates with another team member to perform psychosocial evaluations and assess mental health service needs of clients and their families through observation and interviewing   

• Creates and execute short-term service plans for clients in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team   

• Responds promptly to dispatch calls, traveling from the office to the clients’ homes within two hours
