About the role

The Carleton College Department of Biology invites applications for a one-trimester visiting assistant professor position to start March 31, 2025.

We seek candidates with a Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in the Biological Sciences and a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts environment. Candidates without a Ph.D. will be considered at the rank of instructor. Teaching responsibilities will include a course in Human Physiology with two lab sections over the Spring 2025 10-week term (trimester). The course will primarily cater to juniors and seniors interested in the health-related fields. The successful candidate will be expected to be on campus at least three days per week. Mentoring and support will be provided by Biology Department faculty and Carleton’s distinguished Perlman Center for Teaching and Learning.

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $21,200 and $22,230. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
