As a TRANSPORTATION NETWORK OPTIMIZATION SPECIALIST supporting our TRANSPORTATION TEAM you will be responsible for optimizing transportation operations, improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing service quality within our supply chain at FORT WORTH MAIN, IN FORT WORTH, TX. USA.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Transportation Network Analysis:
Analyze current transportation networks to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
Evaluate transportation routes, modes, and carriers to optimize performance and reduce costs.
Perform network modeling and simulations to predict and test the impact of changes.
Optimization Strategy Development:
Design and implement transportation strategies that reduce costs, improve delivery timelines, and enhance service quality.
Recommend process improvements based on data insights, industry best practices, and emerging technologies.
Data-Driven Insights:
Use advanced data analytics, KPIs, and performance metrics to assess transportation efficiency.
Continuously monitor transportation performance, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
Prepare and present regular reports to management on transportation network performance and optimization results.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
Work closely with supply chain, logistics, procurement, and IT teams to ensure network optimization aligns with overall business goals.
Collaborate with vendors, carriers, and third-party logistics providers to ensure smooth integration of transportation solutions.
Cost Management and Budgeting:
Develop and manage budgets related to transportation network optimization initiatives.
Implement strategies to minimize transportation costs without compromising on quality and service.
Technology Integration:
Stay up-to-date with the latest transportation management software, tools, and technologies.
Leverage new tools and systems to improve route planning, load optimization, and fleet management.
Risk Management:
Assess potential risks within transportation operations, including supply chain disruptions, regulatory changes, and environmental impacts.
Develop mitigation strategies to minimize risks related to transportation delays, route changes, or cost increases.
Continuous Improvement:
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the transportation team.
Recommend and lead initiatives to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of transportation processes and systems.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school diploma +10 yrs; Assoc. degree +6 yrs; M.S.+0yrs)
The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

Work hours: Monday through Friday – 8:00am – 5:00pm
Travel Requirements: 0 to 10%
