UI/UX Designer

Trilateral Research are looking to hire a UI/UX Designer to join our growing Socio-Tech for Good team.

As a UI/UX designer at Trilateral, you will ensure the users' experience with our products is efficient and satisfying. You will be involved in designing products for specific target groups and end users and will need to understand and their workflow and motivations. You'll work collaboratively with other members of the team and the wider business to ensure that products meet client needs.

What are your responsibilities? 

User & market engagement:

• Work with the product manager to identify and map user persona’s, workflows, motivations and requirements. 
• Collaborate in user feedback sessions with co-design partners and clients to ensure that designs meet their requirements and core business objectives. 
• Understand user interaction with the product through evaluation of metrics and usability testing.
• Participate in planning efforts, estimation, and peer reviews.  

Design & implementation:

• Propose and sketch out a range of visual concepts both on paper and using software applications. 
• Translate concepts into wireframes, prototypes, and user flows using specialist tools.  
• Lead design sessions/workshops in collaboration with the product manager, subject matter experts, engineers and data scientists (as required).
• Participate in planning efforts, estimation, and peer reviews.  
• Write reports and communicate the results of your work. 
• Identify areas for improvement.

Team support and development:

• Actively participate in internal training to develop UI/UX expertise and understanding within the organization.  

Please note that this role requires vetting to Non-Police Personnel Level 3, meaning only candidates with a minimum of three years residency in the UK will be eligible.

What skills and experience you will bring to the role: 

 

General Knowledge and Technical Skills: 

• Good creation and visual design skills 
• Knowledge of and experience with design tools to produce wireframes and high-fidelity mock-ups. 
• Experience of testing and assessing the usability of products 

• Experience collaborating with product managers, engineers, users. 
• Ability to balance user needs with business strategy 
• Deliver the designs for each release by following through on details with the Engineering team and driving high quality standards in keeping with design 
• Baseline understanding of working following agile framework and scrum methods.  

 

Interpersonal Skills :

• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication and collaboration skills. 
• Willingness to learn, knowledge share, and improve. 
• Ability to build credible relationships and influence others. 

 

Required Education and Experience: 

 Essential:  

• 3+ years’ experience in UI/UX design.  
• Evidence of a design portfolio that demonstrates experience of design relating to products. 

Desirable:  

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in computer science, digital design, graphic design or a related subject.
