Finance Data Engineer – Sr. Analyst

The Sr. Analyst Finance Data Engineer will join the Global Finance FP&A organization to design and develop solutions using ETL tools that provide reporting and analytics capabilities.  This team works with Alcon Global teams developing and supporting Finance solutions that are used by more than 1.5k users around the world. This job requires strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases concepts and experience with tools like AWS, Alteryx and Tableau. In this role candidate should be great at problem solving, troubleshooting and designing complex technical solutions.

In this role, a typical day will include:

•           Work with Global FP&A organization to understand business needs and provide analytical solutions in Tableau for management reporting areas, for instance, Sales and P&L details

•           Design, build and maintain ETL pipelines

•           Developing and implementing process improvements for data & reporting teams as needed

•           Design, document and develop functional and technical specifications, report mock-ups, prototypes, and final delivery of reporting solutions

•           Create reports that require minimal to no effort to refresh when new data is available

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Min. 3 years of related experience
• Fluency in English
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases concepts
• Intermediate understanding of data transformation with tools such Alteryx
• Background in financial area
• Expertise in gathering business and functional requirements, conducting analysis and establishing metrics for success.
• Great at solving problems, debugging, troubleshooting, and designing & implementing solutions to complex technical issues.
