Position Summary:
The Director of Business Insights – Mission is a strategic partner and analytic leader responsible for the development and delivery of actionable insights, performance reporting and data-driven recommendations that inform strategic decision-making across Mission programs. Working cross-functionally with Mission departments, Finance, Business Intelligence and Revenue teams, this role ensures data-driven insights are embedded in program design, execution, and evaluation to maximize impact, operational efficiency and demonstrate mission impact.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Patient Financial Assistance Analysis & Reporting
• Conduct detailed analyses of program data to generate actionable insights used to guide teams in making informed decisions about program management, ultimately aiming to optimize support for patients and improve program outcomes
• Responsible for overseeing how funds are allocated and used within key financial assistance programs, ensuring resources are deployed effectively to support patients
• Review and interpret program data to inform decisions about fund availability and program capacity, ensuring optimal allocation to support patients’ needs
• Identify and analyze diverse data sources to express patient financial needs, translating these findings into clear, actionable language that empowers the Revenue Teams to effectively communicate and advocate for financial support
• Prepare and update monthly patient financial assistance financial statements, maintain a detailed donation log and conduct ongoing analysis of award utilization to identify trends, optimize program effectiveness, and improved patient support
• Conduct due diligence to support innovative solutions to patient financial toxicity through new program development and existing program optimization
Research Financial Analysis, Reporting and Forecasting
• Serve as a key strategic business partner for research finances, leveraging data driven insights to inform multi-year planning, sustainable funding strategies in alignment with the Chief Medical Officer’s vision, ensuring continued investment in scientific research within budget constraints
• Provide financial analysis and projections enabling informed budget planning and effective cash management for Research Grant portfolio
Performance Reporting, Analysis & Decision Support
• Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership and cross-functional teams
• Partner with Mission leadership to align insights with organizational priorities and strategic goals
• Work with Mission colleagues to ensure alignment on data collection needs upfront for any new programs or program changes, particularly in regard to analysis needs and measuring program success.
• Work with Business Intelligence team and Mission colleagues on bringing in analysis data sources into Enterprise Data Warehouse
• Conduct data quality review of data for analyses; assist with data quality improvements to financial assistance data and assist with data checking for various ad-hoc projects
• Work with Mission colleagues to vet new sources of data for analysis (poverty, urban/rural, social determinants of health)
• Oversee development of dashboards and reporting frameworks to monitor KPIs
• Standardize reporting processes to ensure consistency and quality across initiatives
Education & Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related healthcare field and familiarity with patient support programs and healthcare partnerships
• At least 3 years of experience working in analytics, business intelligence, or strategic insights
• Proven ability to synthesize complex data into actionable strategies and present to cross-functional stakeholders
• Strong working knowledge of Tableau (including AI capabilities), Tableau Prep, Excel, and SQL; experience working with enterprise data warehouses (EDW) strongly preferred
• Proven ability to develop executive-level dashboards, KPI tracking systems, and performance reporting frameworks
• Ability to work independently, thrive under pressure, and advance multiple high-level tasks simultaneously
