JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
A Part-time Research Technician position is available in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the Penn State College of Medicine, in Hershey, PA. The research focus of the laboratory centers on cardiovascular control during exercise in both health and in simulated peripheral artery disease. The successful candidate is expected to have ample experience in cell culture, cell transfection (i.e. electroporation, lipofection), flow cytometry, imaging, PCR, rodent surgery, rodent handling/breeding/genotyping, subcloning, and Western blotting assays. The candidate will be expected to work independently in complex assignments, assist the PI training other laboratory members, supervise lower-level staff, wage employees and/or students. Additional duties include data analysis, optimization of new protocols, help in supervising a budget, and updating standard operating procedures within the laboratory. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher as well as 10 years of related experience. Interested candidates should send a curriculum vitae to Dr. Ruiz-Velasco at vjr10@psu.edu.
