General Manager - The Inn (Salary/Exempt)

About the role
Basic Job Function:
Lead the day-to-day business of the Inn at Sea Island to include: Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, and Food & Beverage. This position will be accountable for all financial aspects to include P&L statements, labor control, budgeting and capital projects and will work directly with Sales & Marketing team to develop, implement and monitor sell strategy to maximize revenues for property.
Use of Company Vehicle: Designated to drive a company vehicle
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum five (5) years in management position of upscale resort or club
- Proven leadership managing multiple operating divisions
- Ability to critique and manage labor and operating expenses to maximize both profitability and customer service experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent credentials
- Bachelor degree in Hospitality or Business related field. Four year degree preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License
- Must have a favorable driving history
- Company policy requires that one must be 21 years of age or older to drive a company vehicle and pass a yearly Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) review
- Proficient in Windows XP and Microsoft Office software applications such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Proficient with peripherals, copier, fax, telephone and calculator
- Monitor and maximize service quality in compliance with company service standards
- Must have a history of developing and coaching teams
- Must have ability to courteously present information to people in one-on-one and group situations

Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Maintain high visibility and hands on management approach, with high levels of engagement with guests, members, owners and Team Members
- Work with all resort departments to maintain maximum rapport and open communication channels to anticipate and satisfy member, guest and owner needs and demands
- Interview, hire, train and develop the performance of direct reports
- Craft, implement and monitor operating budgets, capital projects, forecasts of financial performance as well as monitoring and managing the financial performance to meet business goals and objectives
- Foster an environment of creative solutions and ideas for improving service and efficiency
- Develop and implement service standards and processes
- Monitor all guest and employee areas for cleanliness, repair, and appearance, in accordance with company design criteria and standards
- Partner with Sales and Marketing Team to develop programs and promotions to drive top line revenues, create efficiencies and value/service enhancements
- Monitor online review sites (i.e. Tripadvisor.com, Yelp.com) for reviews and personally respond to any negative feedback
- Learn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and Members
- Record and bill orders accurately into the register system and process payments using guest/member cards in accordance with accounting procedures
- Oversee Food and Beverage operation, to include the continental breakfast and bar area
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one’s ability
- If applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)
- Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas
- Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing
- Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures
- Report all equipment problem
