Job Description :

We are looking for a VP, Global Health, Safety and Security who will be responsible for the implementation and leadership of global physical security as well as health and safety programs & initiatives across our offices and employees.  This plays a key role in the delivery of physical security, health and safety policy development and control; access, badging, provisioning and reporting; incident management-business continuity operations, health & life safety assessments, reporting and training as well as general safety and security support for events, operations, investigations and protective details.

This role requires a seasoned, multi-disciplinarian security practitioner with a solid background in physical security, incident-emergency management, investigations, and health and safety. Additional responsibilities include assisting and advising on enterprise risk, security and safety policy development and oversight. This VP Global Health, Safety and Security must possess a deep understanding of corporate security, health and safety operations in a large multinational organization. Experience working in a media organization is preferred. 

  
Act as deputy to the Chief Security Officer – SVP Global Security assisting in the implementation and leadership of global physical security as well as health and safety programs & initiatives across our offices and employees;

  • In addition to acting as a security manager for News Corp Headquarters and NCS, this role acts as the principal security and safety manager for Harper Collins, Realtor.com, Storyful, The Sun, the US Times, the California Post and the New York Post. 

  • Assist and advise on the development of an enterprise risk strategy to include physical security standards, processes, and operations while ensuring compliance with global and local regulations and certifications.

  • Assist in the development of and provide leadership and oversight for health and safety efforts at a number of business verticals.

  • Conduct audits, assessments and reviews on security health and safety with periodic briefings to key leaders.

  • Plan, implement and oversee a health and safety budget across several verticals.


Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders on:

  • Global office expansions, build outs and renovations by advising on physical security requirements and considerations, then driving related work streams to successful  implementation of recommendations.

  • Lead efforts in health and life safety to include security assessments, training, and risk mitigation in a variety of settings and environments globally.

  • Day to day operations of physical security and access control.

  • Work closely with the HR team on security & safety considerations for employees, including issues or incidents that arise individually and/or locally.

  • Work alongside our GSOC (Global Security Operations Center), People and Legal teams to respond to corporate security incidents and conduct investigations where appropriate.

  • Assist and advise on travel and event security policy and processes.

  • Act as the physical security and health and safety point of contact for emergency response and disaster recovery for our global offices.

  • Conduct investigations and any interaction with federal or local law enforcement

  • Prepares and implement security planning for high level special events

  • Frequent liaison with other business verticals

  • Communicate the value of physical security and workplace safety throughout all levels of the organization’s stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in Global Physical Security and leadership experience

  • Certification and active participation in ASIS, OSAC, DSAC and or ISMA

  • Complies with the requirements of LEOSA/HR-218.

  • Advanced academic degree (Masters preferred) in management or program leadership

  • Law Enforcement experience; strong investigative background and ability to work in partnership with law enforcement and other internal investigative teams.
