Position Summary:

We are looking for a creative, energetic Scientist to join our team as a Cell Biologist in the Discovery Technologies team. The position requires extensive experience in tissue immunofluorescence staining and image analysis. The successful candidate will have a deep drive to learn and to collaborate. In this position you’ll be part of an energizing and supportive culture engaged in continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive research to identify and characterize eRNA-targeted cells in vivo
• Tissue staining and imaging by confocal microscopy
• Analyze target tissues by IHC/IF, including RNA interrogation by FISH/RNAscope
• Multiplex image analysis by cell segmentation and co-localization using software such as HALO, QuPath, Aivia, etc.
• Tissue dissociation and flow cytometry/FACS with multiplex antibody panels
• Develop cell assays to monitor target cell state and function
• Analyze data and present results to the team and in company-wide meetings
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to advance our platform and preclinical programs
• Contribute to other initiatives as they arise in our fast paced, startup environment

Requirements:

• MSc/PhD in cell biology, immunology or a related field
• Extensive experience with image analysis software using cell segmentation
• Extensive experience with IHC/IF staining and multi-channel fluorescent microscopy imaging
• Demonstrated ability in working with highly skilled teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Excellent communication, scientific writing, and presentation skills
• Highly motivated, self-directed, with ability to multitask, prioritize work and manage several projects

Preferred:

• Experience with multiparametric Flow cytometry
• Experience with molecular biology techniques including FISH and single cell RNAseq
• scRNAseq and cell clustering experience using Cell Ranger, Cellenics or Seurat pipelines
