Requirements

Job Duties

  • At Spatial (full corporate name: Spatial Systems, Inc.): Manage the delivery of the company’s high‐quality software products, and ensure on‐time software product releases by coordinating across the software engineering, product, and design teams.
  • Take high‐level and open‐ended software development and virtual reality (VR) projects and turn them into concrete technical specifications for the software engineers and other teams.
  • Manage and own software development project schedules, as well as manage and own issue tracking and the software testing process, and work with the software testing and engineering teams to implement processes across these areas.
  • Use knowledge of VR software development to track schedules against software issues and plan around any anticipated changes.
  • Gather and analyze data from the software engineering, product, and design teams, and consolidate user stories and internal feature requests to organize and facilitate release planning of AR/VR software products.
  • The person who fills this role may work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.
  • Required to report to the New York, NY HQ office once per quarter.


Background

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Entertainment Technology, or closely-related and 2 years of experience working with cross-disciplinary teams from design, art, animation, and engineering on deadline-driven projects. (OR: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience).
  • Experience above must include 1 year of product and project management.
  • Experience above must include 1 year with software development process.
  • Experience above must include 1 year testing and designing interactive software with graphics-intensive user interfaces that run on several target platforms.
  • Experience above must include 2 years with one of the following: JIRA, GitHub Issues, Linear, a similar issue tracking tool, or any combination thereof.
  • Experience above must include 1 year managing external QA teams.
  • Experience above must include 1 year managing project budgets, including managing personnel and service costs.
  • Experience above must include 1 year of gathering requirements from design, product, and engineering stakeholders and creating and documenting software product specs and timelines.
