Operations Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership direction within the Operations function.
Job Summary
The Director, Operations Management, is a site leader role with oversight responsibilities for Cardinal Health 3PL Warehouse Operations and Packaging Services. This job is responsible for leading an internal team and ultimately partnering with pharmaceutical manufacturer clientele to provide outsourced packaging, warehousing and distributions services. The Director, Operations Management, works to create value for clients by delivering high quality service, flawless execution, regulatory compliance, creative solutions and labor optimization while providing data & analytics to inform business decisions. The Director, Operations Management, also develops yearly business plans and personal objectives that support the overall achievement of company goals.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
Responsibilities
- Directs and oversees overall program functions and associated activities for 3PL Warehouse Operations and Packaging Services including but not limited to packaging operations, transportation, inventory management, warehousing and order fulfillment.
- Participates in prospective client sales presentations, leads facility tours and assists in determining programs and services required to support client requirements
- Coordinates daily activities of warehouse operations and packaging services; ensures proper infrastructure, facilities, equipment and training to support operations and production staff
- Reports on efficiency and productivity metrics; ensures operations are completed in compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and EHS guidelines
- Coordinates departmental activities through planning with management to ensure the total objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Builds relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturer clients, regulatory agencies (FDA, NABP) and auditors; supports tours and audits as needed
- Applies broad knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry trends and best practices in a manner that ensures quality service and achievement of agreed upon results
- Ensures collaboration with other functional areas, establishing effective working relationships with internal business partners
- Implements cost effective systems of control over operating expenditures, administrative and analytic systems, training, and staffing; identifies opportunities to improve current processes and evolve best practice governance
Qualifications
- 15+ years pharmaceutical packaging experience, required; CFR Part 211, Code of Federal Regulations Current Good Manufacturing Practice for finished pharmaceuticals
- 15+ years leadership experience, preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working directly with pharmaceutical manufacturers, external vendors and regulatory agencies
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products

- Conducts performance evaluations and provides one-on-one feedback to encourage team members’ development; creates performance improvement plans for staff and administers discipline when necessary
