About the Team

DoorDash’s Safety Strategy & Operations team is seeking an experienced Associate Manager to help shape our work in the Safety space. The Safety S&O team plays a critical role in ensuring every delivery on DoorDash is safe for Dashers, Consumers, and Merchants. This is an exciting opportunity for a high-performing candidate to drive strategy and execution in a critical area.

About the Role

As an Associate Manager on DoorDash’s Safety team, you will provide strategic oversight, lead deep analyses, and drive end-to-end implementation of large-scale initiatives that advance the team’s goals. You’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, Content, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Policy, and Legal, and manage relationships with external vendors. This role reports to the Manager of Trust & Safety.

• Define, launch, and execute various strategic initiatives focused on safety initiatives for Dashers, Consumers, and Merchants on the platform.
• Collaborate cross-functionally across the Safety S&O team, Product, Design, Content, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Policy, and Legal, and others to drive key strategic projects.
• Define key results that align with strategic vision that aim to track progress against goals, highlight tradeoffs and prioritization for initiatives across the team, and communicate out results to senior leadership.
• Generate high-level project plans with tasks, resources, dependencies, and dates.  
• Prepare presentations and communicate findings to management and the broader DoorDash Integrity organization.

We’re excited about you because…

• You bring 4-6 years of professional experience with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• You are proficient in SQL and Excel and can translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• You have strong strategic problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate in ambiguity, structure complex problems, and drive clarity.
• You have experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and other teams to implement change and drive results.
• You demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, and can influence stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
• You have strong program and project management skills, with a track record of scoping, prioritizing, and executing initiatives from 0→1 and scaling them effectively.
• You have knowledge of DoorDash’s products and a passion for our mission.

Nice to haves…

• Trust & Safety domain experience: Familiarity with the safety space, including prior work in Trust & Safety, risk management, or related functions (e.g., content moderation, incident response). Experience contributing to projects focused on protecting users, mitigating risks, or building systems to ensure user trust.
• Vendor management experience: Proven ability to oversee third-party vendors, including monitoring performance against SLAs, ensuring quality of service, and driving accountability. Experience managing external partnerships to achieve operational excellence is strongly preferred.

Compensation

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.
