Devotes a significant portion of their time to managerial, leadership, organisation and staff development responsibilities. Provide technical leadership &amp; management responsibility for product design and identification of new technology opportunities. Collaborates with cross functional peers to meet functional and business deliverables <span> </span></span></span></p> <p><span><span> </span></span></p> <p><span><span><span><b>Key Responsibilities</b></span></span></span></p> <ul> <li><span><span>Drives functional excellence initiatives, delivers high quality R&amp;D functional deliverables, and ensures technical excellence for product or technology development.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Provides guidance and training to staff, assists subordinates in attaining career goals, motivates individuals to achieve results, and recruits and maintains a high-quality staff.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Responsible for recruiting, coaching, and/or developing organizational talent</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Provides significant guidance and approval regarding technical strategies and approaches.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Engages with customers and Health Care Partners </span></span></li> <li><span><span>Manages functional infrastructure and laboratory capability requirements </span></span></li> <li><span><span>Determines project staff assignments and schedules work to meet completion dates and R&amp;D deliverables.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Develops and monitors department budgets.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Ensures continued intellectual property development from self and staff.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Manages functional infrastructure requirements </span></span></li> <li><span><span>Often leads briefings and technical meetings for internal and external stakeholders concerning specific projects, operations or schedules; converts technical information to compelling business context and advice</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Influences the opinions and decision making of others internally or with external partners/vendor/customers to achieve department objectives; persuades peers and higher level managers and builds consensus to take action/ adopt recommendations</span></span></li> </ul> <p><span><span><span> </span></span></span></p> <p><span><span><span><b>Education &amp; Experience</b></span></span></span></p> <ul> <li><span><span>Minimum BSc or BEngr degree (NFQ 8 Level 240 credits). </span></span></li> <li><span><span>Minimum of 10 years industrial experience with at least 5 years of supervisory/management experience of large teams (experience in MedTech or Pharmaceuticals is useful)</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively, manage projects, and drive innovation within a research and development setting.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Experience in developing and implementing long-term R&amp;D strategies aligned with business objectives.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Proven track record of managing R&amp;D budgets, optimizing resource allocation, and delivering projects within budget constraints.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Experience working collaboratively with teams across various departments such as engineering, product development, marketing, and manufacturing.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Ability to analyze complex issues, identify solutions, and make data-driven decisions to drive R&amp;D initiatives forward.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Experience in recruiting, mentoring, and developing a high-performing R&amp;D team.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to the industry and experience navigating regulatory processes.</span></span></li> </ul> <p><span><span><span> </span></span></span></p> <p><span><span><span><em>At Boston Scientific, we recognise that nurturing a di
