The Utqiagvik Trial Court of the Alaska Court System is accepting applications for multiple Full-Time Court Case Managers 2 (salary range 12) and one Part-Time Court Case Manager 2 (25 hours per week). Under general direction, this position performs a variety of clerical and technical functions in support of court operations. Information about the Part-Time Court Case Manager 2 (salary range 12) position is provided at the end of the bulletin.

These are in-person positions located in Utqiagvik.


These positions perform a variety of civil case management, courtroom, and customer service functions to support the efficient operation of the court. Responsibilities include reviewing and processing case filings, maintaining accurate case records, scheduling hearings, preparing and reviewing court documents, collecting fees, and ensuring compliance with court rules, policies, and procedures. Incumbents serve as in-court clerks for assigned proceedings, preparing courtrooms, documenting hearings, administering oaths, managing jurors and exhibits, and completing post-hearing case processing. These positions also provide professional customer service by assisting the public, attorneys, and partner agencies, responding to inquiries, processing records requests, and providing cross-training and backup coverage to support overall court operations.
 

The Work Hours
Full-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week.  The work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break.

The following information describes the duties, responsibilities, and qualifications for the Part-Time Court Case Manager 2 (Salary Range 12) position. This part-time position is scheduled to work 25 hours per week and will assist the criminal and front counter clerks.

This position performs a variety of criminal case management, courtroom, and customer service functions to support the efficient operation of the court. Responsibilities include opening and processing criminal cases, scheduling hearings, preparing court orders, warrants, and summonses, maintaining accurate case records, receipting payments, and processing probation revocation and transferred cases. The incumbent serves as an in-court clerk for a variety of hearings by preparing the courtroom, documenting proceedings, operating recording equipment, administering oaths, managing exhibits, scheduling future hearings, and ensuring accurate courtroom records. This position also provides professional customer service by assisting the public, attorneys, law enforcement, and partner agencies in person, by telephone, email, and written correspondence, while providing backup coverage and support for other positions within the office.
