Vehicle Fleet Coordinator
Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Milford Proving Grounds in Milford, MI, on a full-time basis (5 days each week).
The Role
As we move towards our ZERO ZERO ZERO vision for the future, we are looking to add hardworking individuals to our lab technician team! On this team, we contribute to that vision by supporting the development of groundbreaking electric and autonomous driving technology through building and maintaining sophisticated developmental vehicles and electrical test benches.
In this role as Vehicle Fleet Coordinator, you will deploy and maintain engineering fleet vehicles for multiple business units within the Software & Services division of GM. This is an excellent opportunity for organizational agility and leadership growth. We are looking for an energetic leader who has experience defining process, establishing structure, and leading enterprise initiatives.
It includes ordering of fleet, handling vehicle reservation, maintaining software and hardware as part of the vehicle development lifecycle.
What You'll Do
Responsible for ordering vehicles working with different key stakeholders across different domains of Software & Services and understanding the different RPOs and configuration needed to support S&S (Software & Services).
Document vehicle needs from multiple requestors/users and working with PVE (Program Validation Engineers).
Consolidate multiple vehicle request as part of the SPUF (Shared Property Usage File) working with different key stakeholders, and integrate SPUF files into the system.
Support Global Vehicle Build Exception/Global Vehicle Build Request approval.
Collaborate with the manufacturing team to finalize vehicle order forms and builds.
Maintain fleet information in the system.
Review and consolidate vehicle time requests from different requestors and users.
Write work tickets and partner with company vehicle operations to support maintenance of fleet (software and hardware).
Order parts for fleet vehicles that need to be retrofitted or swapped as part of the program development lifecycle, and collaborate with technicians and vehicle content verification analysts.
Lead activities (Vehicle transfer/logistics/decommission) with regards to the paperwork required from a fleet perspective.
Maintain and manage authorization codes, shipping logistics and utilization authorization.
Own and publish scheduling for vehicle maintenance, warranty updates, and software updates.
Handle daily on-call support for vehicle issues or help needed by users.
Own audit of vehicle properties to ensure maximum utilization of each asset.
Lead and identify decommission of older and/or damaged fleet vehicles.
Work on process improvements (reserving properties, fleet ordering and maintenance).
Additional Job Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
2+ years of experience working with automotive fleet-related programs.
5+ years of overall vehicle coordinator-related experience.
Strong Project Management and Organizational skills.
Ability to lead complex problems and take risks to find solutions.
High level of oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others.
Understanding of vehicle features and systems.
Ability to work in a variable and volatile environment.
Ability to work on different tools and applications regarding fleet handling and management.
Understanding of GVDP (Global Vehicle Development Process) program milestones.
Understanding of software development process.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
3+ years of experience working on automotive fleet-related programs.
Experience with GMLAN/CAN vehicle communication system and CAN based monitoring tools (Intrepid NeoVi, Rad Galaxy, etc.).
