About the Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to define and execute the commercial strategy for S&P Global Ratings’ globally to ensure that OneCommercial team achieves its key business objectives to grow the core ratings business and expand across markets, geographies and emerging risks. The role will report into the MD and Head of Global Commercial Strategy.

The Team: The role sits within the Global Commercial Strategy team. We are a team with a strategic mindset, strong integrity, collaborative spirit, and a ‘can do’ attitude. While this role will work with all regional counterparts in various markets, Marketing, Market Outreach, Product and Sales colleagues in the regions, it will work most closely with and report into the Head and MD of Global Commercial Strategy, Product, & Operations.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor market trends, competition, customer feedback and evaluate partnership to accelerate penetration and adoption of S&P Global Ratings offerings

  • Execute Market Development Strategy - Introduce existing products / solution to new market / target audiences e.g. Private Markets and Emerging Markets

  • Develop and Execute Go to Market Strategy for new products. Work closely with Product and Marketing

  • Providing competitive intelligence to inform product and solution roadmaps

  • Contribute to the overall business's organic and inorganic (M&A, investment, and strategic partnership opportunities) strategy and execution to accelerate the roadmap and enter new markets

  • Work with Marketing and Prospecting teams to develop brand and awareness campaigns, conference strategy, and build pipelines. Deliver thought leadership and represent the business at key industry events

  • Ensure "front-to-back" alignment between Sales, Marketing, and Product teams on marketing and product initiatives

  • Generate new ideas and contribute to product roadmap, pipeline, business plans and product Pricing

  • Partner, collaborate and help steer strategic projects and initiatives across SPGI

  • Lead commercial partnerships with other divisions within SPGI and with affiliates

  • Establish strategy and plans within each growth area of the business, ensuring clear objectives and success metrics are defined

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $125,900 to $220,300. The final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, including experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan. What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor degree; an advanced degree (Masters or MBA) preferred plus 15+ years of experience, ideally in financial services

  • Comprehensive experience in conducting research about market needs and competition

  • Experience in managing and supporting client relationships at senior executive level.  Sector level experience also needed to understand market needs and establish credibility with clients

  • Experience of presenting to organization’s Senior Executive / senior management to propose strategic options for their approvals

  • Business Case Development including market sizing, competitor analysis and financial projections

  • Possess strong relationship management and collaboration skills with ability to partner & influence decisions among internal stakeholders and colleagues across all business functions
