Senior Systems Administrator – Linux & Windows (Remote)

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-facing Senior Systems Administrator to support Linux and Windows environments for a critical Treasury program. The ideal candidate is proactive, transparent in their work, and capable of collaborating effectively with stakeholders. This position requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and administer Linux and Windows operating systems, ensuring system performance and security compliance.
Apply patches, monitor vulnerabilities, and coordinate with the cloud provider and the Treasury team to remediate findings.
Participate in and respond to security data calls; document security controls and system changes as required.
Collaborate with Treasury teams in a transparent, customer-focused manner; proactively communicate progress and technical decisions.
Support DNS configurations and networking infrastructure.
Leverage SIEM tools such as Splunk to monitor system logs and security events.
Ensure all tasks are completed in alignment with FISMA, NIST, and other federal security frameworks.
Required Qualifications:
6+ years of experience demonstrated experience with Linux and Windows Administration, including Shell Scripting.
BS degree
1+ years of experience with DNS Administration
1+ years of experience in core networking technologies.
1+ years of experience performing Windows and Linux vulnerability scans and executing remediation activities.
6 months of exposure or training of SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk).
6 months of exposure or training of Computer Networking Technologies
6 months of exposure or training of Cloud Technical Architecture and cloud system administration.
6 months of experience working transparently (on camera) and effectively with government stakeholders.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
US Citizenship is required (required by the federal government for this position).
MUST RESIDE IN THE United States (U.S.) and the work MUST BE PERFORMED in the United States (U.S.), as this work is for a federal contract and laws do apply.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience administering the following security tools:
Nessus
Splunk
WebInspect
DBProtect
Understanding of FISMA, FIPS, NIST, and FedRAMP security standards.
Oracle Cloud administration experience.
Active recognized security industry certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CEH).
Prefer candidates in the MD DC VA area so they can go onsite for meetings if needed.
