Key Responsibilities

The Attorney General’s Office is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to deliver comprehensive HR support to both legal and administrative teams. This role demands strong organizational skills, the ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks, and the capacity to work independently while actively collaborating within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Lead onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • HR Transactions & Data Management: Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, process personnel actions, and ensure all HR transactions adhere to policies and legal standards.
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Generate and analyze HR metrics, create dashboards, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Payroll: Process payroll adjustments, review timesheets,  reconcile discrepancies, and address payroll inquiries.
  • Recruitments: May assist with recruitments as needed.
  • Communication Skills: Present HR initiatives and facilitate communication with employees and management.
  • Critical Thinking: Assess information objectively and make sound judgments in complex situations; anticipate and plan for potential issues.

In addition, this role plays a vital part in delivering exceptional support and customer service to staff throughout the organization.

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience: 2–4 years of proven experience in HR operations, payroll processing, onboarding, training, and development.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll best practices, and HRIS platforms.
  • Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, high proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Interpersonal: Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; proven ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Teamwork: Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to changing priorities.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to analyze HR data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Work Ethic: High level of integrity and commitment to excellence.
