We're looking for an experienced Sr. Staff Software Development Engineer (UI/React.js) to join our Unified Experiences Platform team in San Jose, CA.  Reporting to the Engineering Manager, Software Development, you will be responsible for: 

• Developing and maintaining of reusable UI components for our best-in-class design system using ReactJS/TypeScript
• Mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers, promoting best practices and ensuring code quality
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and software engineers, to define the vision and roadmap for the design system UI component library
• Identifying and resolving technical challenges and issues related to the design system's UI components by incorporating a robust test automation strategy
• Participating in code reviews, providing feedback, and enforcing coding standards to ensure high-quality and maintainable codebase

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

• 7+ years of experience in JavaScript development with expertise in building reusable UI components and frameworks using ReactJS
• You excel in creating lean, clear, and up-to-date documentation, testing, and automation, and view these as integral components of your UI engineering workflow
• You possess exceptional problem-solving skills and a proven ability to develop creative solutions to technical challenges
• Prior experience with effectively conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• You have a demonstrated track record of fostering engineering excellence and driving innovation in previous roles

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Demonstrates strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality work
• Possesses experience in performance optimization, ensuring code quality, utilizing component composition with a layered-cake approach, and applying testing methodologies for reusable UI components
• Exhibits a strong understanding of front-end build tools, package managers, monorepos, and version control systems (e.g., Nx, npm, Git)

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range$147,000—$210,000 USD
