Job DetailsJob Location: Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center - Denver, CO 80246Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Not SpecifiedSalary Range: $20.50 - $24.25 HourlyJob Shift: DayJob Category: EducationThe Staenberg-Loup JCC Early Leaning School (ELS) is looking for qualified Non-Lead Support Teachers who can help create a fun and safe environment while also incorporating excellent educational programming to assist in our childrens development and support a diversity of needs within the classroom. We are looking for Support Teachers who are knowledgeable and responsible to join our ELS team of 40+ teachers and the greater JCC community. At the JCC, we have a culture and environment of everyone welcome.
 
In this role, you will support multiple classrooms and work with the Classroom Teachers as they develop, implement, and provide a quality educational program that reflects the goals of our school. As a Non-Lead Support Teacher, you will aid in the delivery of the lesson plans and experiences crafted by the Classroom Teachers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching and Curriculum

Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children
Nurture physical, spiritual, emotional, social, and intellectual growth and development of each child
Support Classroom Teachers as they plan and implement a daily curriculum according to developmentally appropriate practices and school values with your teaching team
Support school operations during Family-Teacher Conferences days, as requested

Administrative & Classroom

Maintain a cheerful, nurturing healthy, safe and clean classroom environment
Maintain attendance and injury records
Maintain storage, organization, and cleanliness of classroom equipment and materials
Ensure the maintenance of a clean classroom

Communication & Community

Communicate regularly with Administrative team and Classroom Teachers around classroom challenges as well as all concerns regarding a childs progress
Participate in regular staff meetings and professional development
Participate in School social and family education programs
Communicate regularly with Classroom Teachers and ELS Administrative team
Support Classroom Teachers as they plan for parent conferences as needed/requested
Attend school-wide and class events such as picnics, parties, parent meetings and other special events
Work with the teaching team on problem solving classroom and school challenges, as needed

 

Professional Development

Work towards increasing knowledge and abilities in the field of early childhood education and related topics through attendance at workshops and courses, reading books or periodicals, or other means
Team up with other staff for professional development on the peer-to-peer level
Attend monthly staff meetings/professional development sessions
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS

First-Aid/CPR
Basic knowledge of a constructivist approach to learning and/or emergent curricula
Prior experience working with young children
Proficiency in MS Outlook
Excellent verbal and written communication
Knowledge of, and respect, for the rules and regulations of the Staenberg Loup Jewish Community Center including the Employee Handbook and the ability to abide by them.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

This position requires the candidate to be able to care for childrens physical needs on a consistent basis. Candidates must be able to interact with children on their level; frequent bending, squatting and playing on the floor is expected. Candidate must be able to life 30 pounds.
