Position Summary
The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division of Public Health – Seattle & King County seeks to fill a Regional Quality Improvement (RQI) Administrator I position within the Regional Quality Improvement Section. The EMS RQI section is responsible for various data, research and technical programs for the region, including managing the regional Cardiac Arrest Surveillance System, providing guidance and training for the regionally used electronic health record (EHR) system, performing data analysis related to medical and operational QI projects, conduct grant related research programs, and support other EMS and Public Health teams with EMS related data integration.
The EMS RQI Administrator I provides administrative, operational, and program coordination support for Regional Quality Improvement (RQI) programs and activities. The position works within the Regional QI team to assist with operations and provide proactive administrative support for regional projects and KCEMS related requests from partnering agencies. Responsibilities include preparing correspondence, presentation materials, managing administrative tasks for regional events, creating data visuals and presentations; coordinating logistics for regional meetings and events, maintaining shared resources and documentation; data retrieval, organization and fulfilling requests.The position also provides administrative support to the Regional QI Section Supervisor by collaborating with the division finance and administration section to fulfill personnel-related administrative processes, assist with contract management, supervisor correspondence and calendar management, records management, and other section operations. Additional responsibilities include ordering and delivering equipment, software, supplies, and monitoring systems, submitting tickets as needed. Data related tasks entail responding to routine requests; assisting with data requests and information management; and maintaining an understanding of HIPAA requirements and the sensitivity of information managed within Regional QI.
The position reports to the Regional QI Section Supervisor and is expected to work onsite Tuesday through Thursday, with the ability to travel throughout the region as needed. This role is expected to work independently while maintaining consistent communication with the Section Supervisor and Functional Analyst III regarding priorities, deadlines, and project status.The RQI Administrator supports the Regional Quality Improvement Section by coordinating administrative activities and assisting with data requests, system documentation, and operational tasks that support regional EMS research, evaluation, and system monitoring.
The EMS Division provides core regional services essential to delivering the highest quality out-of-hospital emergency care across King County. The division partners with 25 first responding EMS agencies staffed by more than 4,500 EMTs and paramedics who respond to more than 255,000 EMS patient care incidents annually. Additional partners include regional dispatch centers, hospitals, mobile integrated healthcare programs, private ambulance providers, and community organizations serving more than 2.3 million residents across King County.
