About the role

SWIVEL is seeking a talented individual to create and maintain manual and automated test cases, test plans, and test suites for SWIVELS’s client-acing applications and supporting processes. This individual builds automated regression suits in support of the continuous testing strategy.

Essential duties include the following:

  • Builds test cases, test plans, and test suites.
  • Designs, creates and maintains automated test scripts (Web, API, and Microservices) as part of an application test suite.
  • Manage manual and automated test management tool to test management tool and execute them in CI/CD tool (Azure Dev exp is preferred)
  • Capable to automate batch and ETL Jobs
  • Capable to analyze failure in automation scripts and apply fixes
  • Should understand and test/utilize AWS cloud components like S3, Lambda, API gateway etc.
  • Performs exploratory testing to find issues outside of normal use.
  • Collaborates with business partners, product owners, and developers to ensure testing strategy will satisfy all acceptance criteria and development outcomes.
  • Tests application features against performance expectations and baselines.
  • Tests applications for common security vulnerabilities.
  • Test application performance requirements.
  • Creates and maintains test data that will allow for all aspects of a test to be fulfilled, either through the application or directly with the data source.
  • Maintains automation frameworks and tools.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field from an accredited college or four-year university OR equivalent experience required.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of seven- eight (7-8) years of experience required.  Extensive experience with static testing, system testing, regression testing, functional testing, non-functional testing, ad-hoc testing, and performance testing required. 
  • Experience testing web, API and Microservices applications and creating automated test scripts using SoapUI, Selenium, or a similar tool required. 
  • Strong self-management skills, allowing for independent project execution with minimal oversight.
  • Demonstrable history of successfully guiding and mentoring Junior to Mid Level colleagues.
  • Experience in developing automation scripts using Selenium in C# or Java (Preferred C#).
  • Used Java script or Groovy script or similar scripting language while automating API.
  • Experience in test management and CI CD tools (Azure Dev ops is preferred) .
  • Experience in automating script with cross browser tools like Browser Stack.
  • Experience in object-oriented programing concept.
  • Experience with Agile SDLC practices via Scrum and/or Kanban preferred.
  • AWS certification is preferred.
  • International Software Testing Qualification Board (ISTQB) certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Selenium and ability to write automated test scripts.
  • Proficiency in Perl, Java Script, Groovy or similar scripting language.
  • Deep understanding of testing fundamentals, including requirements traceability, defect management, defect analysis, injection and detection analysis, defect remediation, etc.
  • Basic understanding of relational data models.
  • Basic understanding of SQL databases.
  • Programing experience in C#, Java, or similar programming language.
  • Basic development skills.
  • Able to query and add data, as necessary, via SQL Server or Oracle preferred.
  • Familiar with test management and defect reporting tools, including Micro Focus Application Life Cycle Management (ALM), Microsoft Test Manager, Team Foundation Server (TFS), JIRA, etc.
  • Demonstrate initiative and innovation.
  • Able to remain up to date on the latest testing methods and technologies in order to produce high-quality software.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
