Chief Accountant

For our HQ in Milan, we are looking for a Chief Accountant to join our Finance Department, directly reporting to Finance Director.

 

Main responsibilities:

• Supervise day-to-day book-keeping activities, including recording financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling accounts;
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements;
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing activities, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments;
• Collaborate with the Finance Director to analyse financial data and provide insights on the company's performance;
• Collaborate with fiscal consultants to ensure compliance with tax regulations and timely submission of tax returns;
• Coordinate with external auditors during tax audits and provide requested documentation;
• Provide financial expertise and support to Finance Director on activities like budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis;
• Assist in financial planning and decision-making processes, providing accurate and timely financial information;
• Support Finance Director to conduct financial analysis, in order to identify areas of improvement and recommend strategies for cost reduction and efficiency enhancement;
• Leverage on advanced knowledge of the SAP accounting system to manage financial transactions, generate reports, and ensure data integrity;
• Collaborate to enhance system functionalities and address any accounting system-related issues;
• Train and educate finance team members on the effective use of the accounting system.

 

Profile:

• Financial and/or economic background, with a strong understanding of the conceptual framework of accounting and reporting, particularly IAS/IFRS;
• 2-3 YRs of relevant work experience in the field of accounting or finance, possibly within international environments or Big Four.
• Advanced experience on SAP accounting system will be considered a significant plus.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks, always respecting deadlines.
• Problem solving oriented and working by objective mindset.
