Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Experienced Estimating and Pricing Specialist to join our team based in Everett, WA.
A successful candidate will apply knowledge of Statistics, Finance, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain in support of developing cost estimates, business cases, Price and Offerability and work transfer activity. The job requires coordination/collaboration with experienced estimators, industrial engineers, finance analysts, and design engineers to develop the statement of work, provide alternatives that minimize risk and maximize benefits, and determine the best estimating approach. The candidate will also perform statistical analyses to estimate potential opportunities and risk around the estimate. This position with little guidance will require research, analysis, and interpretation of historical data to support estimate development and affordability projects.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develops estimates and prices from technical requirements through the design, build, and aftermarket support stages of the program
- Develops, prepares and validates estimates and prices
- Evaluates requests for proposal, substantiates estimates/pricing and assembles price proposals
- Develops estimating and pricing methods
- Evaluates and develops business cases
- Performs analyses and provides recommendations in support of pricing/estimating (risk, financial, competitive, etc.)
- Develops and maintains pricing models
- Incorporates data into and maintains structured systems and coordinates program database requirements
- Develops/applies/maintains rates and factors for estimating, pricing and proposals
- Performs compliance activities including policy and procedure development, system/tool deployment and training delivery
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years' of experience from the beginning of the process through to the end, with any of the following: Design & development of test fixtures and/ or test plans, Design of a part or assembly, Design of tooling or development of production processes to make the part, Development of a proposal, Development of a proposal to involve cost estimating, Provided support to customers following delivery worked closely with manufacturing during the build process
- 3+ years' experience using all the following Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- 3+ years' experience analyzing data, creating reports, and presenting results
- 3+ years' experience working in a cross-functional team – i.e. collaboration with varying technical disciplines, clearly communicating up and down the food chain, does not require micro-management, can give and take orders, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Master’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
- Experience working in a technical, operational or manufacturing environment with the ability to translate that knowledge into financial opportunities
- Diverse functional experience
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).
