Job Duties
The Reliability Project Manager works under the direction of an Account Manager to deliver exceptional results on small to medium sized client projects. This role has accountability for team management, project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resourcing as well as meeting client specifications safely and with acceptable quality. This is a mid-level leadership role, and individuals are expected to have a high degree of demonstrated leadership and technical competence.
Position Overview
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position is a middle management role with both client and team management responsibilities.
- Manages team time and attendance, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.
- Provides daily support by addressing and resolving complex issues.
- This role will be expected to travel 75%or more of the time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organizes and executes projects to meet client scope while staying within budget, quality, and time constraints. The complexity and size of projects are low to medium.
- Partners closely with Senior Project Manager or Account Manager.
- Ensure the team meets metrics related to safety, quality, production, and compliance.
- Provide on-the-job training, skill development, and regular performance feedback.
- Hold regular safety meetings and lead discussions on team goals and priorities.
- Oversee team time reporting and manage travel accommodations for crew members.
- Communicate daily progress, issues, and needs to managers and clients.
- Partner with the Safety Team to conduct required programs, investigations, and audits.
- Submit required safety documentation and conduct field-level safety inspections.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, protocols, and company policies.
- Oversee daily utility pole inspections and tasks, ensuring efficiency and adherence to standards.
- Conduct daily quality control (QC) inspections to verify compliance with project specifications.
- Utilize GPS, GIS software, and other technology to document field activities and ensure accuracy.
- Support crews in problem-solving and issue resolution to maintain project momentum.
- Lead teams in utility pole preparation, treatment, and restoration tasks.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment, including pneumatic and handheld tools.
- Professionally interact with landowners and other stakeholders, ensuring clear communication.
- Represent the company in public settings with professionalism and integrity.
- Stay current on technological advancements and integrate new tools into operations.
- Participate in employee and professional training events as required.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Proven manager experience, preferably in utility infrastructure, construction, or a related field.
- High-school diploma with a minimum of 3 years electric utility or telecommunications industry experience.
- Strong understanding of utility pole inspection and restoration practices, safety standards, and client requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team management and client relations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, influence, and direct team members. Exhibits a growth mindset of continuous improvement and learning.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work with limited direct supervision.
- Understanding of operations, processes, and standards in the utility industry or related field.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, anticipate consequences, and implement resources.
- Apply understanding to carry out detailed instructions. Identify, address, and resolve problems in varied situations.
