Organization and Position Overview

Lilly recently announced a $4.5 billion investment to create the Lilly Medicine Foundry, a new center for advanced manufacturing and drug development. The first-ever facility of its kind, combining research and manufacturing in a single location, the Medicine Foundry will allow Lilly to further develop innovative solutions to optimize manufacturing processes and increase capacity for clinical trial medicines, while also reducing costs and environmental impact.

The Site Maintenance Supervisor is a key leader responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities to ensure the company’s assets are managed in compliance with cGMP and other applicable standards. This role ensures equipment availability, reliability, and optimal performance by maintaining and repairing process, facility, and utility equipment according to established guidelines. The Site Maintenance Supervisor leads and develops the maintenance team, fostering a culture of safety, technical expertise and innovation. In addition, this role ensures alignment of maintenance programs and initiatives with organizational goals for safety, quality, and efficiency, directly supporting the delivery of novel medicines for clinical trials within The Medicine Foundry.

This position will be responsible for developing initial processes and requirements for the Maintenance Team in preparation for operation.

Responsibilities

In line with the job outlined above, the following are typically the key tasks that would be expected of the role:

- Safety - Sets expectations for a positive & proactive safety culture, ensures that all team members are knowledgeable and compliant regarding safety procedures, policies, permits and practices. Initiates and leads accident, near miss reviews and incident notifications. Ensures proper housekeeping procedures are maintained.

- Quality – Responsible for team’s compliance and meeting the quality standards as defined by cGMPs, the Global Quality Standards, local procedures. - --- Manage People Effectively – Responsible for managing daily maintenance operations across shifts up to 7 days a week, including attendance, overtime, resource planning, operational issues, performance management, development planning and reporting of results.

- Maintenance Excellence:

  • Ensuring quality of Maintenance Execution.
  • Main point of contact for maintenance and responsible for escalation of any issues.
  • Responsible for Team Training and Development and ensuring team is current on training prior to assigning work.
  • Responsible for Maintenance KPI’s associated with Team’s performance.
  • Aligns Team Priorities to support production plan.
  • Interfaces with customers to insure alignment and effective prioritization of maintenance activities.
  • Monitors the business and execution processes to ensure work is being performed in conformance with site and corporate goals.
  • Reviews a subset of executed Work Orders.

- Investigates Team deviations as needed.

- Owns incident reporting, investigating, and corrective measures.

- Responsible for maintenance staffing including recruitment.

Basic Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Five years of industrial maintenance experience in a leadership/supervisory role

           

Additional Preferences:

  • Previous supervisory/leadership experience required
  • Regulated GMP manufacturing experience required
  • Manufacturing, industrial maintenance or building maintenance knowledge preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally with multiple levels within the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to provide coaching and feedback
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, set objectives and meet targets
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-level customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving
  • Computer proficiency
  • CMMS experience desired
