Job Description
Ares Management Corporation (NYSE: ARES) is seeking a highly organized, proactive and curious paralegal (“Paralegal”) to join its large legal team of attorneys and other legal professionals. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment requiring mental agility and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and shifting priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. The Paralegal will provide day-to-day support to the Funds Legal team with respect to a variety of recurring tasks and discrete projects.
The Paralegal will assist with the formation of funds across Ares’ private equity, credit, real estate, secondaries and infrastructure verticals, including Ares’ internal programs, and work on bespoke matters supporting the funds legal group. As such, familiarity with legal matters relevant to private equity funds and/or investment management is highly preferable. The Paralegal should possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, organization and time management skills and be a “good corporate athlete” with a great attitude who can work autonomously and anticipate needs in a fast-paced environment. A successful Paralegal will seek out opportunities to learn and improve the Ares Management platform as a whole while maintaining a high level of professionalism dealing with highly confidential matters.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Paralegal will be charged with facilitating the efficient functioning of the Funds Legal team to enable the timely delivery of high-quality legal services to investment professionals and other functional groups (e.g., finance/accounting, investor relations, compliance, etc.) across Ares globally. Critical tasks include:
Assist with all aspects of the organization and closing of private funds;
Manage formation and dissolution of entities, including corporations, LLCs and partnerships;
Organize and maintain files, databases, lists and registers relating to fund entities and transactional, regulatory and other legal matters;
Manage registrations and filing requirements relating to private investment funds;
Oversee entity management process, including entity formations, dissolutions, governmental filings and regulatory compliance;
Assist with new entity and fund onboarding and account openings;
Assist with project management related to fund closings, signatures and closing sets, and post-closing matters;
Collaborate with internal business units (e.g., finance and accounting, tax and/or compliance) to provide legal information and support;
Additional business -related projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Notary public preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years prior paralegal and/or legal trainee and/or funds operational experience is required, preferably with some portion relating to private markets (private equity, real estate, credit, infrastructure, venture capital or hedge funds) either in a law firm or asset management firm.
