Description

 What You Will Do
  • Responsible for maintaining overall inventory for the UHLSF laboratory supply room and filling orders for physician practices, laboratory draw sites and patient service centers per request, packing and labeling order appropriately for courier delivery.
  • Responsible for keeping supply areas neat and orderly in order to permit the accurate counting of supplies and the identification and removal of outdated supplies.
  • Responsible for maintaining communications with designated physician’s office, laboratory draw sites and PSC’s in order to ensure timely and accurate information flow regarding shortages, outages, overstock, and other inventory problems and concerns.
  • Maintain equipment inventory log for lab equipment in use at laboratory draw sites, i.e. centrifuges.
  • Create and maintain physician specific requisitions in Excel.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
 

Qualifications

 Education
  • High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
Work Experience
  • Stock room, inventory, hospital, and/or customer service experience (Preferred) and
  • Experience with hand held computers (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills (Required proficiency)
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. (Required proficiency)
  • Demonstrated ability to use PCs and general office equipment (i.e. printers, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.). (Required proficiency)
