About the role

Under limited supervision, responsible for operating and maintaining x-ray equipment and taking x-rays of various portions of the body to assist radiologist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. May lead or mentor lower level team members.

Experienced professional with a strong background in providing support to high-profile organizations and athletes, including the San Antonio Spurs, the San Antonio Rodeo, and collegiate athletic programs. Experienced with building trusted relationships with athletes, staff, and stakeholders while maintaining professionalism in fast-paced, high-demand environments.

Work Hours: Flexibility for work schedule, the department will discuss during the interview. Travel to other clinics will be needed for this position. 

Operates and maintains x-ray equipment and takes x-rays of various portions of the body as ordered by the provider while practicing radiation protection techniques at all times.  Prepares patients for x-ray by administering drugs or chemical mixtures orally or intravenously; transfers, positions and instructs patients regarding the procedure.  Selects appropriate imaging parameters and operates console and peripheral hardware e.g. stands, positioning device, and any other devices/equipment used in radiology.  Performs quality assurance on radiographs to ensure optimal imaging; places service calls on equipment as needed.  Maintains exam room cleanliness and stocks supplies.  Performs all other duties as assigned.   Able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge and skill necessary to provide care and imaging to pediatric adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.  Ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives, and choose an appropriate course of action.  Comfortable working with computers and large pieces of technological equipment.  Ability to work in a fast pace and high volume environment.  Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.  Required certifications must remain current and valid.    Education: Associate's Degree of Applied Science Degree, or the successful completion of an approved two-year (2) program in radiologic technology is required.  Licenses/Certifications:AART American Registry of Radiologic Technologists BLS Basic Life Support
