This is an exempt management level position within participating residential programs. The Residential Programs Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of SHP and BHC Residential Programs within Nation’s Finest, including, but not limited to, supervision and contract/grant compliance. 

This position reports directly to the Assistant Site Director or Designee. The Residential Programs Supervisor working within our residential programs will work in partnership with the residential team and the Clinical and Residential Programs Administrator to implement program structure that meets all the funding requirements and compliance regulations as set forth in program the policies and procedures specific to the grant(s).  

 

Job Duties:

  1. Maintains employee and campus morale and promotes NF’s core values and a team approach at all times to encourage a collaborative, cross functional team ensuring meaningful, long-term changes in the lives of the Veterans we serve. 
  2. Serves as the direct supervisor to program staff within the BHC and SHP residential programs as applicable. Each site can and will have a specific org chart and could have other staff within the supervision chain. Takes on all duties related to day-to-day supervision of the program staff. Monitors overall functioning of the program and staff development and training needs.
  3. Oversight of the onboarding process of interviewing, hiring, and orientating quality candidates to increase retention.
  4. Completes major assignments related to the operation of the program. This includes collection and submission of billing, funding related reports and program related reports. 
  5. Coordinates activities of the program, including adherence to group schedule and appropriate staffing. 
  6. Analyze monthly occupancy and financial reports to identify growth opportunities and plan or adjust related strategies. 
  7. Maintains a safe, secure, and comfortable work environment for the team and the campus.
  8. Learns, interprets, and applies policies and procedures on a daily basis with residents and staff. Counsels, directs, holds staff accountable as needed including verbal notices, formal written warnings and performance improvement plans as needed, and in line with company policies and procedures.
  9. Monitor the condition of the facilities and furnishings in the residential program to ensure health and safety of clients, and coordinate repairs/maintenance. Ensures monthly safety walkthroughs are completed and ensures all health and safety reports and drills are uploaded accurately and timely. 
  10. Oversees the completion of program schedules and revision when necessary. Ensures that all residents are attending required number of groups based on their individual programming by providing them with a group calendar, tracking their attendance, appointments and personal schedules.
  11. Monitors and tracks the amount of time Veterans are in the program to ensure they are not exceeding limits and getting extensions if necessary.
  12. Sets up an audit schedule for all case files in order to address compliance and training issues.
  13. Educates outside entities, referrals and co-workers about residential programs eligibility criteria, assessment processes, entry documentation requirements, program requirements, resident expectations and the goals, objectives and mission of Nation’s Finest. 
  14. Network with VA Liaisons, BHICU, Mental Health, Addiction Specialists and other hospital staff at the VA hospital. Complete campus tours to visitors, volunteers, potential residential clients and schedule tours with partner agencies and veteran services groups that inquire about residential programs.
  15. Keeps the VA Liaisons (two) abreast of all medical/mental health, safety and clinical concerns of each Veteran and report activity immediately that requires an incident report. Ensure all incident reports are completed and turned in to the Site Director and VA Liaison within 24 hours. 
  16. Conducts outreach and orientation to other agencies when needed, or delegates to other staff to help identify appropriate candidates for Nation’s Finest programs as needed. 
  17. Responds to program emergencies on a 24-hour, 7-day basis, as needed. Cover shifts when staff call out sick, taking alternative time off when required.  
  18. Other duties as assigned.
